Summer Vacation

These are the two rides Jill was afraid of last year and this year LOVED :) the big one is called Point of no return

Lots of fun so far this summer... Went to Wisconsin to see Grandpa Chudy, Spent the first day at Noah's Ark in the Dells, which is a few miles down the road... the kids love it there.... then the kids stayed with Grandpa and Debbie for 5 days and had lots of new adventures in the country. Cal caught 45 fish !! and Jill was able to fly Grandpa's airplane and finally got her Wings with the EAA and is an official Young Eagle.
I went to Myrtle Beach with my friends from Illinois that I grew up with.. this was our 9th year meeting and it was the best yet!!
as you can see GREAT times so far this summer... and only a few weeks left... Summer goes WAY too fast. Cal is headed to Creighton Basketball Camp tomorrow for the week, so there will be more fun times for him there ...

We went out to Brian Koblers Cabin for the day with Pam and Steve Mathison and family, Andy and Kim Gues, Meffy, Abe and the boys and a few other families. Very fun even if the sun never came out... here are some photo's of the day.

Jill doing 3 back hand springs

This is a video of Jill warming up her back hand springs at the state meet in Iowa. She is really getting confident in her tumbling, she can now do Round off back hand spring, back Tuck in the yard ... and at the cheer clinic this week did 3 back hand springs on the gym floor ! I am excited to see where she is next year at this time... she is a little power house of muscle and is willing to try anything. We are heading to Des Moines in August for the Jr. Olympics, she qualified in all 3 events by finishing in the top 7 in her age group. She got 1st in Tumbling, 3rd in Tramp, and 7th in double mini. should be a fun time.

WOW was it HOT and we had fun anyway... The Varsity team did extremely well, winning camp champs in both the cheer and the Dance divisions. JV Won 1st in the JV Dance division and Freshmen won 2nd in freshmen Chant division... very productive week of learning. I rented a boat and took them out on the lake, that was a lot of fun. Over all great time...

Baseball season gone already ....

Cal won the MVP of the Game award ( cow bell) , given to him by the opposing teams Coaches. Great honor for him..we were very proud.

WELL, that was fast !!! Cal's baseball season was so much fun, except it went way too fast. our last game was this past weekend in the state championships and his team did very well... they were ranked 1st all season and ended up losing in the finals... let me set up the situation for you... bottom of the 6th, 2 outs, two men on base, CAL is up... he is the "tying" run.... we are down 3. My heart is beating so fast...he hits a double !! the 2 runs come in, we are down ONE RUN, he steals Third base.... winning run is at the plate.... ball, ball, strike one, strike 2, ball, ....Cal tries to steal HOME and get's in to a pickle ......You're OUT !!! yells the Ump. :( SO, that was it... they tried and battled back until the end... it was sad, but mostly sad because we didn't want the season to be over.... He decided he wants to play Fall ball now :) fine with me b/c last week he wanted to play tackel football and I did not like that idea !!! Have a great 4th of July !!
