Good bye Grandpa

12/28/2008

December coming to and end, the Holidays are behind us and Grandpa has left the building... We just got home from the Millard Airport sending Grandpa Chudy back to Wisconsin, it is a beautiful day for flying and the kids had a good time helping him get off the ground. Check out the video of his departure... Glad he was able to make it out and looking forward to his return in Feburary. We are heading out to another basketball game today..hopefully better than yesterdays... our family managed to get the stomach flu and Cal had a rough night last night..so today should be better on the court... Looking forward to 2009... Hope the New Year rings in a new found energy !

Almost ALL the family came over on Christmas day to celebrate! We had Tim's Dad (Grandpa and Nana) and My Dad From Wisconsin( Granspa Chudy- He surprised us that morning and called us from the air) My Mom (Grannie), and My sister Colleen and her husband Tom, thier kids Maggie & Brady. We had Chili and Italian beef sandwiches for dinner ( not your typical Christmas meal, To, does a much better prime Rib) but it worked for this year. Then we opened presents ( The best present of the night was the "SHAM WOW" that Tim got... he is an easy guy to please! see picture above) then played some cards -"$h*t on your neighbor" Colleen and Grandpa Mathison went home with the winnings ... it was a fun night for all ... Looking forward to a great 2009!!

Mathison Christmas update

Christmas has come and gone and now I have some time OFF !!
so, I am going to BLOG like my friends :)~
This may be the one and only blog... but I am going to give it an honest try!

Cal is 11 and full of sweetness. He lloves sports and plays ball every chance he gets. He is in a tournament this weekend gmaes Saturday at 4:30 and Sunday at 1:30... we are hoping for a "W"

Jill is still a little gymnast.. she is now a level 5 and has 3 competitions coming up, the first one in KC on Valentines day, then the 20th in Emporia Kansas and then 2weeks later in Tulsa OK. SO we will be hitting the road for the gold!

Tim is coaching Cal in 5th grade basketball and doing a great job. He took football season off to be a "sideline dad" and he is back court side which makes us all happier. He is also coaching 11 year old baseball this summer(again) and we are looking forward to that as well.

I am having a great time with the cheerleaders this year... they are doing a great job cheer on all the teams at the games! They have super school spirit, and they are also kicking tail at the competitions... great year all around! Teaching teenagers to rule the world is still going well ... I am a little afraid of the future :) but the year is not done yet !
