We had a family party for Jill tonight, it was very nice to have everyone over for dinner and to play a few rounds of Rock band on the Wii.... Uncle Steve to the rescue he fixed the drum set ! thank you!!! Jill was so excited to get a bean bag from Granny to go with her new TV she got from Mom and Dad ( and Cal) She also got a Super cute Justice Bag and scarf and flip flops and a beach towel from the "other" Mathison family ( Pam, Steve, Eli, Kate and Wil) Thank you so much !!
and from Grandpa and Nana she got a gift card to shop at Justice and a cute pink outfit with matching bag.... VERY lucky little lady !! I think she knows that - she keeps saying Thank you for having a party Mom this was the best night of my life :)

the house is now quiet and we are getting ready for another busy week, Cal has DI competition in Kearney this weekend with Grandpa, and I have my Relay for life bowling party on Friday and Sunday Cal has his first baseball game of the season!! Go Monarchs !! I will post pictures of all those exciting events next week ( maybe)

How about this for a busy weekend...Cal was in 2 basketball tournaments at two different locations, opposite sides of town !!! One team was his 6th grade buddies coached by Jim Paschal- SO much fun to play with them again... The other team was the 5th grade Jr. Monarchs that Tim coaches.... and it was our end of the season tournament. Both teams played their hearts out and did a fantastic job. The 6th graders "team LaVista" won 2nd place and lost by 1 point to the 1st place team !! The 5th grade team won 1st place and also had an amazing 1 point game... although this one ended in our favor with 4 seconds left Matt made a lay up to go ahead by one.... We went out for Pizza to celebrate the end of the season at Pizza Gourmet on Giles, great pizza! Tim said a few things about each player and brought tears to the eyes of most of the Mom's ... and also brought some laughter to all. Great season of basketball...Sad to see it end...... On to BASEBALL !!!

Cooper the Kitten

Welcome "Cooper" our new Kitten. We found Cooper in Blair, NE. He had 3 white and one black sibling... He is a cute little mutt kitty with Grey fur and White socks. He is full of energy so far and LOUD ! He has not stopped Meow-ing all day !! He has pretty green eyes and sweet little face. Tigger HATES him to put it mildly... he hisses at each encounter. I'm sure they will be friends in the future but for now Tigger is holding his ground and making sure Coop knows who the Alpha cat is. Jillybean is thrilled to have a new toy and Cal is happy to have a new buddy even though I think he would rather have a dog... we are just not good dog people. Cats are more independant and that is what we need at this time in our busy life. If you have been keeping track we now have a lizzard (Maylasian Gecko) , a Hermit crab, 5 fish , and 2 cats.... you are welcome to visit the Mathison Zoo any time, we are selling season passes until the end of the month. :) ~
